The Adult HERMES project will go on for several years and includes the development of different products and deliverables geared for training in Adult Respiratory Medicine. It has been divided into several clearly defined phases. Each phase has its specific deliverable.

One national respondent has been selected in each country to participate actively in the project. Those respondents are experts in the field of education, training and accreditation matters in their own country.

Thanks to all your responses, the Paediatric HERMES Task Force has launched the Round 2 online Delphi survey to assess the draft syllabus for training in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine.

The inaugural HERMES European examination in adult respiratory medicine will be held on the Saturday afternoon, October 4th at the ERS 2008 Congress in Berlin. The European Diploma in Respiratory Medicine will be awarded to its successful candidates.

The Paediatric HERMES Task Force is now formally approved. The project will be headed by its chair Monika Gappa, and co-chair Jimmy Paton. The task force will produce an updated European Core syllabus for the Paediatric Respiratory Medicine specialists.
