Adult HERMES

The Adult HERMES Task Force will soon publish the results of its accreditation phase whereby a series of recommendations will be given. Training centres can aspire to be recognised as European training centres by the ERS in the frame of the HERMES initiative. This Task Force has published its European consensus-based syllabus in 2006 and curriculum in 2008. The HERMES booklet of "European Standards for Training in Adult Respiratory Medicine: Syllabus, Curriculum and Diploma" is now available. This is a compendium of the documents produced from the wide-ranging consensus processes. This booklet contains the syllabus, the curriculum, the examination as well as the editorials regarding HERMES. Order this unique reference of medical education. Click here.

The Adult HERMES Task Force has paved the way for other HERMES initiatives across respiratory medicine specialties. It has become a model for its wide-ranging consensus process involving experts, academicians, practitioners, educators and trainees.
