Prof. Konrad Bloch
Professor Konrad Bloch is based in Zurich and his roles include Attending Physician, Vice Director for the Pneumology Department at the University Hospital in Zurich as well as the Professor of respiratory medicine and clinical respiratory physiology at the University of Zurich. In the past 3 years, Professor Bloch has been involved in professional memberships including board member of the Swiss Respiratory Society, past president of the Swiss Society of Sleep Research, Sleep Medicine and Chronobiology, and past president of the Committee of board examinations in pneumology under the Swiss Repiratory Society. The ERS welcomes Professor Bloch as the first Chair of the HERMES Examination Committee.
Dr Mina Gaga
Dr Gaga currenly resides in Greece and holds the position of Consultant and Director of the Respiratory Medicine Department and Asthma Centre, at Athens Chest Hospital 'Sotiria' since January 2006. Her responsibilities oversee the Athens University Undergraduate programme 1996-2000, and the Athens University Post-graduate courses in Respiratory Medicine from 2000-2006. Dr Gaga has for some time been a member of the European Respiratory Society and has held roles including National Delegate, Director of Learning Resources, and EBAP Secretary.
Dr Ildiko Horvath
Dr. Horvath is currently based in Budapest, Hungary and holds the position as Scientific advisor of Semmelweis University within the Pulmonology Department. Since 1995 Dr Horvath has been an active member of the European Respiratory Society and held positions including National Delegate for Hungary, and Chair of the Scientific Group for Airway Regulation. Dr Horvath is also an active member of the American Thoracic Society, the Hungarian Respiratory Society and the Hungarian Physiology Society.
Prof. Robert Loddenkemper
Professor Loddenkemper is Medical Director of Zentralklinik Emil von Behring, Berlin. The professor has held positions including Professor of Internal Medicine at the Free Unitersity and at Humboldt University, Berlin. His main scientific interests include bronchoscopy/thoracoscopy, pleural effusion, interstitial lung diseases, and oncology (lung cancer, diffuse malignant mesothelioma). He has received a number of awards including Honorary doctor of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences 2007 and Annual Award of the European Lung Foundation 2004.
Prof. Robin Stevenson
Professor Stevenson is based in Glasgow and holds the position of Honorary Professor at the University of Glasgow since 2007. His interests include interstitial/ eosinophilic lung disease, occupational lung disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and tuberculosis. Professional memberships include the Association of Physicians of Great Britian and Ireland, the British Thoracic Society, the Scottish Thoracic Society and the European Respiratory Society.
